Why I Post on My Website First Before Sharing on Social Media
I always publish my content on my own website first, and only after some time do I share it on social media. Here’s why:
- Ownership and Control When I post on my website, I retain full control over my content. Social media platforms can change their policies, limit reach, or even remove posts without warning. But my website is mine—no algorithms decide who sees my work.
- SEO and Long-Term Visibility Content on social media is fleeting. It may get attention for a day or two before getting buried. On my website, however, posts remain accessible and searchable, bringing traffic over time through search engines.
- Better Engagement and Branding A website creates a focused space where visitors engage with my content without distractions. Unlike social media, where posts compete for attention, my website presents my work the way I want it to be seen.
- Monetization and Growth My website allows me to build an audience without relying on third-party platforms. Whether through email lists, memberships, or direct support, I can grow my reach independently.
- Avoiding Platform Dependence Social media trends change, and platforms rise and fall. By prioritizing my website, I ensure my content has a stable home, regardless of external changes.
